Jesus: Alive in Corporate America, Carol Spicer |
|
I am a self-employed programmed management consultant and have been since the 70s. But in 1994, because of some changes in my personal situation, I was working with a major aerospace contractor. Needing Jesus more than ever and realizing the desolation in corporate America, I was amazed and delighted when I met a fellow co-worker at my job and realized he was a believer in Christ. We would often pass each other in the hallway and he always had a word of encouragement or enlightenment for me. But he sure didn't sound like any other Christian I'd ever met, and I'd met plenty during my 20+ year walk with the Lord. He and his wife took me to a meeting of the church in Orlando and introduced me to others of like precious faith. They gave me literature written by Witness Lee, which I found to be aligned with Watchman Nee's teachings that I had read years before. The more I learned from my co-worker and Watchman Nee, the more dissatisfied I became with my prior experience of Christ. How grateful I am to my co-worker and his family and the local church for what they've brought into my life. The truth of the gospel is so evident when it is presented without guile and without agendas for personal (or corporate) gain. My eyes are still opening to the truth and I accept responsibility for sharing that truth with others. |
